About Robin
I have worked with hundreds of students across a wide range of abilities, backgrounds and learning needs, including students with SEND. I understand that barriers to progress are not always about ability, as confidence, motivation, retaining knowledge or feeling overwhelmed can all make learning harder. My priority is to create a positive environment where you feel comfortable asking questions, being honest about what you find difficult and making mistakes without feeling judged.
Science can be challenging, but it is also incredibly rewarding and opens the door to a huge range of future opportunities. I enjoy making difficult ideas feel understandable and relevant, helping you connect what you learn in lessons to the world around you. I set high expectations, but my role is to encourage and support you in reaching them rather than adding unnecessary pressure.
For students aiming for the highest grades, I can also help make sense of what can sometimes feel like the “hidden rules” of exams. Whatever your starting point, you will be supported, challenged appropriately and in safe hands.

I am a qualified Science teacher with over six years of teaching experience, including experience as an Assistant Director of Science. My Year 11 students achieve almost a full grade above pupils nationally with similar prior attainment. I have also supported over 50 students through the National Tutoring Programme, with some making up to three grades of progress.
Every one-hour lesson is personalised to the individual student, with a strong focus on building confidence, understanding and exam technique. New concepts are clearly explained and modelled before students practise independently. I use regular questioning and knowledge checks to identify misconceptions and adjust the pace of learning.
I teach students aged 11–18, including GCSE Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Combined Science for AQA and Edexcel, as well as A-level Biology.
