Group offers: [a) 1 student: $70 per hour] b) 2 students: $45 per hour per student c) 3 students: $35 per hour per student Some FAQs for my new students: 1. Is tutoring in-person or online? I prefer online tutoring. However, if the student is less than 10 mins driving from my place (you can ask for this info when we phone call :) ), we could organise for it to be in-person. 2. When will the tutoring sessions be? This will be organised when I talk to the parents on the phone. 3. How often and how long will the sessions be? My experience tells me that 1 hour per week (and 2 hours per week for Years 11-12 students) every week is enough. However, if the student and I feel that some additional tutoring is required prior to exams or other assessments, this can be arranged. 4. What information do I need to provide the teacher prior to the first session? Anything that would enable me to know your abilities in maths (e.g., recent assessment results, topics that the student is struggling with, showing me your classwork/homework, your goals in maths this year, what career you would like to go for after school, etc.). Also, provide me with the name of the textbook you are using at school. It is also very important that you send me the topic you're struggling with and/or working on at school :) 5. What do I bring to an online tutoring session? It would help greatly if you bring a device that has a pen (e.g., iPad and its Apple Pen, a Microsoft Surface with its pen, etc.). If you don't have one, I will provide you with a solution. 6. What is my ‘teaching style’? I adapt my teaching depending on the student. Amongst other considerations, some students are more of the drill-type and are really motivated to work a lot to get good results, while others prefer a more student-centred approach. 7. Will the student be expected to complete homework outside of the session? Yes, they will, and the amount of it will depend on how much homework the student is willing to take on. 8. How much is the tutoring? How do I pay for the lesson? For a one-on-one lesson, $70/hour and the first lesson is free. The parent transfers me the money through a mobile payment before the end of the tutoring week. You can cancel the lesson 24 hours prior to the first lesson, otherwise, a $35 fee applies (unless there are really unforeseeable unfortunate reasons).
