About Kevin
I am a semi-retired teacher and have been teaching Secondary students both in Australia and overseas since 1968. Recently I have been tutoring and mentoring final year undergraduates in Bachelor of Education degrees. My qualifications include: Master of Theology, Grad Diploma of Applied Theology, Certificate IV Trainer and Assessor, Grad Diploma of Crisis Counselling, Bachelor of Arts
Double Major – Anthropology. Major - Sociology. English Literature. Behavioural Science. Certificate in Teaching. I am fully registered and hold a current certificate issued by the Queensland College of Teachers.

My teaching methodology includes:
Student-Centred Discussions - I admit that I do enjoy being the "wise-one", but I realize that this does little to engage students in deep thinking. I expect my students to be at the centre of their learning.
Making Connections - It is absolutely essential that my teaching method helps students make interesting and relevant connections to their learning.
Increased Autonomy - I make sure to provide my students with clear learning goals, but they are able to make their own choices within that framework. Autonomy helps engage and empower my students, and it enables them to have a voice in their learning.
Building Relationships - Building professional relationships with those I teach and tutor is extremely powerful for students' academic success.
