About Rivers
Hello! My name is Rivers! I have been in school choir for over a decade, and involved in various small and large vocal ensembles as well as solo performances. I have also been involved in church bands and have a passion for learning and singing different songs from many genres of music. I also really love people, and learning from many different types of people about how they like to interact with others. I have worked with children and adults and have a great deal of comfort working with all ages! I look forward to being able to work with you on enhancing your singing abilities.

*Disclaimer* The writing for understanding what the lessons contain is kinda formal, however I just wrote it that way to add a level of professional client care, to show that I do know what I am doing, however I’m a really chill person. I just wanted to break it down in a way that’s comprehensive and somewhat brief. Also the structure is fluid and available to change at your desire :)
The first lesson will begin with a short get to know you portion, as well as finding out your goals for taking lessons with a tutor. We will start with some basic warmup routines as well as finding your optimum range to determine which songs will be assigned to you for practice. After your range and desired style is determined, we will then select a song that will most easily fit to your needs, and go over different techniques to strengthen your voice.
Small assignments will be made available to you at the tutors discretion and your desire. ***Assignment completion is optional, however highly desirable, as it will enhance your lessons greatly because you will be utilizing your time in between lessons, which will ultimately maximize the benefits from taking lessons.***
The second lesson will begin with vocal progress updates and a breakdown of the lesson plan for the session, followed closely by our warmup routines. After completing the warmup routines the previous assignments from lesson 1 will be discussed and analyzed. Next we will begin working more specifically on your chosen song and genre, discussing the breakdown of how to do certain things with your voice and making stylistic choices on how you wish to perform your specific song. We will experiment with different techniques to help you gain traction in understanding how to perform your piece.
The third lesson will begin similarly to the second, as we may have gained a semblance of routine by this point. Moving forward, the lessons will be open to alterations based on your desire, performance, and completion of out of lesson assignments. Based on the instructor’s assessment of the progress of the student, there will be several different paths that lessons can take. From this point onward how much progress you make in your lessons is entirely up to how much work you are putting into them. You will get out what you put in; that being said there will be three levels of difficulty students are able to select from for the lessons: Easy, Intermediate, and Difficult. Students are able to switch between difficulty levels at certain parts in the lesson plan as per the instructor’s discretion and or the students needs.
Learning any skill will take some level of work, however with perseverance and excitement, learning to sing can be a breeze! I greatly look forward to being able to work with you!!
