About Jenny
About Me
I currently live in a village in England and teach in a local primary school. I love spending time with my family, and having two young children myself has given me a much wider understanding and appreciation of how children learn and how, for many children, the demands of a school classroom environment can be tough.
I enjoy working out and going to the gym as I believe that exercise and being in good physical health are key to a positive mental mindset.
At the start of the my teaching career, I spent a six months teaching English to children in India.
I once met Prince William and Prince Harry on a school trip to a Wembley concert.

Qualifications
•MA Childhood Studies, 2007-2008, Warwick University
•PGCE Primary Education, 2006-2007, Warwick University (certified teaching qualification in the UK)
• BA Sociology, 2003-2006, University of Leeds
For over 15 years, I have been working as a teacher in mainstream British primary schools. For 10 of those years, I have been the head of English at two different schools where I have had the responsibility for driving progress and achievement. My focus as a teacher and a leader has always been to help children reach academic excellence through exciting and innovative lessons. In my role, I have worked with a range of children, from those with additional needs to children who have been classified as gifted and talented.
Philosophy
My philosophy behind education is that every child should have equality of opportunity, no matter their background or ability. It is crucial that every child should be given the opportunity to learn and feel successful. There should be a challenge and the chance to excel at every level. From the moment that children enter my class, they will feel welcomed and valued. I aim to create a love of learning which will carry children throughout their academic years into adulthood. Education should be fun and exciting as I know that happy children will learn and remember more.
Classes
I like to teach classes on the whole primary curriculum as I have been doing this for many years. My area of speciality is reading and writing. I am particularly able at helping reluctant readers and writers see the joy that comes when they succeed.
