About Yesenia
I started tutoring in my last two years of high school (2018-19), which comprised mainly of ESOL students that had a difficult time understanding English. The students were all in elementary or in middle school, where I would meet the students (with the supervision of their parents) in libraries. I started dual enrollment in 2019 which allowed me to begin college earlier and understand well in the subjects of intro. to chemistry and college algebra. I graduated from Dunedin High School in 2019 and was one of the top ten in my class, with a GPA of +4.4. Because I'm bilingual, I have a good understanding in Spanish and was part of the Spanish Honor Society. I was part of several extracurricular clubs including NHS, SHS, Key Club, Interact Club, and Yearbook which motivated me to work harder.
I enjoy helping out others that have a difficult time understanding school. My parents are both from Mexico and moved to the USA during their teenage years, meaning that my native language was Spanish. I also had a difficult time understanding English and usually needed extra help in reading and writing. But, I eventually learned English pretty well and was in several honors and AP courses throughout my middle and high school years. I firmly believe that if you work hard, you can achieve anything.
