About Crystal
I have a Masters in Education and three teaching credentials. I have been teaching for over 15 years. I have taught high school, middle school and elementary school. I have also taught special education. I have tutored for over 10 years. I specialize in reading, phonics, comprehension, and math.
I love when a student is able to understand something that they were struggling with. That is the reason I love teaching!
I started teaching at a local private school and later taught at a public school. I enjoyed teaching at both. I am currently still teaching at a local school.
I have a Masters in Education and three teaching credentials. I have worked at public and private schools. I have taught at the elementary, middle school, and high school levels. I also have experience teaching special education.

My typical process for working with a student begins with assessing their strengths and weaknesses. Next, I assess what their preferred learning style is. Then, I like to learn what they are motivated by. Last, I present the information in a meaningful, interactive and fun way. This not only creates a connection between the student and myself, it creates a connection between the student and the information.
I have worked with all types of students aged 4-17 in general education and in special education.
Make sure you are willing to be responsible for your own education. Great teaching can only provide the opportunity to learn, but you have to have the desire to gain more knowledge and put in the effort.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
List your academic strengths and weaknesses as well as the subjects you would like help with. Make sure you know what type of time commitment you will need from the teacher. How often do you want tutoring help? What days of the week would you like help? What time of day would you like help?

My standard pricing is $40 per hour for homework tutoring and for test prep. I charge $60 per hour for individual specialty tutoring where I am creating the materials and resources.
