About Keerthana
Hi! I'm a recent medical school graduate who is friendly, organized and loves interacting with my clients. I am very personable and like to tailor my tutoring around each individual student's needs. Currently, I have a very flexible schedule and am available to tutor at any time of the day (daytime or nighttime hours)
My tutoring journey started while I was in highschool teaching fellow students stuggling through the SATs and at all education levels below me. Since then, I have developed an interest in science-based education and have spent my college years earning a Bachelors degree in Biology & Science. I went on to teach Anatomy in Medical school and excel in healthcare based learning objectives. I specialize in Anatomy, Physiology, Biology, Pathology, Pharmacology. I am also excellent at teaching younger students from K-12 in science and SAT prep.
When I can get a student to understand a concept that they struggled greatly with--it brings me so much joy to see them finally crack something open. Its a beautiful moment when a student recognizes their own potential.
Oftentimes we are made to feel we are "stupid" just because we cant understand something YET. Everything can be learned! Its a matter of patience and pursuit. :]
My history in education spans from highschool mentorship and tutoring students for English, Writing, Literature, Biology and SAT prep. Since then, I have expanded to helping students in college pre-med courses as I was an Anatomy Lab & Physiology TA in medical school.
I also have experience in editing writing samples for students pursuing college admissions, medical school applications and even residency applications. With an comprehensive background in essay writing, I can help you achieve polished, strong personal statements for any application needs.

I start off slow by first learning where the student falls in terms of knowledge & skill. To assess this, we would have to review past quizzes/course material and find the places there are cracks in the foundation. I believe that learning is best achieved by building a strong foundation first with a good grasp of concepts. Typically the reason most students suffer academically is because of the lack of understanding the basics. When conceptual and foundational understanding is achieved, no matter how much the topics/questions are manipulated, one can always find their way to the answer.
Apart from that, I truly believe the success of any student is highly dependent on repetition and doing practice questions! For my SAT kids, I will have them work through 100s of SAT questions and writing samples because as they say- practice makes perfect!
K-12 - im very good with older kids in elementary/middle school /highschool & getting them inspired and motivated to learn as I faced similar struggles with motivation when I was in highschool
College: specifically pre-med (Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Pharmacology & English classes)
Medical school (Step 1 advice and guidance)
Always ask for a trial run of 15 mins to see if the teacher & you are able to understand each other and your schedule. This is important in creating communication & open dialogue to best help the teacher understand your exact issues. Come prepared to the tutoring session so that they can help you effectively. Email questions you have ahead of time so they can have answers ready for the session- that way you're not wasting time!

As I am just starting my tutorship in this space, I am willing to negotiate on prices! Additionally, I am available during school hours & afterschool hours for tutoring.
Prices vary based on needs. Typically, 1hr of SAT prep ~$30.
Essay editing (prices change based on what level of editing is needed) : ~25/hr
Subject tutoring starting at $25/hr.
