I have 3 years of teaching experience now and have truly developed a passion for it. I didn’t know it was meant for me until I graduated from the paramedic program in 2017. I had been I was unable to jump into the field and work on the streets as a medic, due to being a single mom and all the things that come with it. There were so many instructors that had passed their knowledge down to me and so many others, that I thought, why not me? I wanted to be a part of the proactive side of EMS, not just dealing with the disasters, but helping to prevent them. I looked through my training and skills only to realize that there are so many ways to work, share, and be helpful to my community. One of which is education. In EMS there are many roles, some are figures that solely share the gift of information. It is this information that will aid in helping the EMTs, Medics, and hospital staff in the long run. Knowing what to do and when to do it during a medical emergency or any traumatic situation can not only save a life but can ensure a better recovery for the patient. Research shows that those with emergency response training react quicker, are more efficient, and more confident than those without. Do you know what to do in an emergency situation?
