I had my first lesson with Nayib this past week for about an hour. I came in with zero knowledge of the game other than the name of the pieces I learned by watching the Queens Gambit. Nayib was super patient with me as he taught me how to set up the board, how each piece moves, what it means to be in check, and much more. At one point, I had to ask him to repeat his explanation multiple times so that I could visualize it in my head (cause that’s just how I learn) and he did so with no judgement. Great instructor and hope to do more classes with him soon!

Nayib did a fantastic job assessing the skillset that I had and ensuring that my goals for the session were met. The session was dynamic and engaging, so I never felt bored with the material he showed me. Even though I had a limited skillset to begin with, I feel like I can navigate future games with an enhanced understanding of strategy and set myself up for success at the beginning of the game. Nayib is easy to get to know and excels in making his students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I highly recommend his sessions!
