About Richard
A certification provider of Adult & Pediatric CPR/AED/First Aid/Basic Life Support (BLS)/ Bloodborne/Fire Safety through both The American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI) and National Safety Council. Business started in 2003 by public demand for an effective and time conscious means of providing emergency response training to the public and private organizations. Have over 25 years of training experience with Federal, State and local institutions, healthcare, childcare, industrial and manufacturing facilites. Began as a military trainer, and then started to train a large guard force in CPR/AED/First Aid for a Class A commercial highrise building. Soon afterwards, I was approached by various companies and organizations to train their staff and then by public demand, Safeguard CPR Training Services was created to meet the public training needs.
Military trainer for 4 years instructing soldiers in various emergency response training, and over 18 years training experience in the public sector.
Certified authorized instructor through the American Safety and Health Institute and The National Safety Council. I hold OSHA 30 cards in General Industry and Construction.

Will perform a short interview of the student. Will ask if the requested training is for a job, school or personal use.
I will then see what specifics in training the student will need and custom tailor a training session to meet the students requirements.
There is hands on training skills that are included in the training as to give the student confidence in their performance.
I have instructed students in a wide arena of occupations i.e. Healthcare/nursing, Early intervention/therapists, Childcare Providers/Nannies, college students, park rangers, construction, church groups, Boyscouts & Girlscouts, retail, commercial and manufacturing.
Its important to not only know if the instructor is an authorized provider but that they are certified through the top major organizations i.e. AHA, ASHI, Red Cross, National Safety Council. They should also inquire as to what style of instruction the teacher provides. Hands on instruction is very important.
I provided a private/individual training session for a youg lady who 2 days later went on vacation in Las Vegas. I received an email from her while she was still on vacation, advising me that she had just performed CPR on an individual who collapsed in the middle of the boulevard. She performed CPR for 6 minutes, EMS arrived and defibrillated him and he recovered. She thanked my training in being able to provide assistance successfully.
