About Joshua
Hello, I’m Joshua Stephens. Currently I’m a senior at Fairfield Senior High School. Clarinet is an instrument that I’ve been playing for 5-6 years now. In my tutoring sessions I will go through “Clarinet for Beginners” by Avrahm Galper and any Clarinet questions that my students have from school band class along with questions in general. Throughout the years, I have received a plethora of superior ratings from OMEA: Solos, small groups, and large groups, and I have been in Wind Ensemble for the High School along with Honor Band twice. In Marching Band I played Bass Clarinet as well. The Clarinet family of instruments are by far the best sounding instrument, and I love to play and teach the Clarinet.
The summer prior to my sixth grade year I started taking Clarinet lessons, and from day one of band class I was the top of my class. I’ve been in Select Band in seventh and eighth grade, Symphonic Winds freshman year, Marching Band playing Clarinet and Bass Clarinet, and Wind Ensemble.

“Clarinet for Beginners” by Avrahm Galper is the Beginner book that I will be starting out with.
We will go through the book lesson by lesson, and I will give homework to help the student grow at a more accelerated pace.
About an hour of individual practice a week along with the tutoring session is recommended.

My younger brother has been taking private lessons with Josh over the past few months. He is very flexible and has made learning the clarinet fun for him. He is incredibly patient and organized as well. He prices his lessons fair and I would highly recommend him to anyone of any age interested in learning how to play this instrument.
He helped me improve so much. He was extremely patient and worked with me from the ground up. Strongly recommend if you are serious about improving your clarinet abilities.

Details
I typically charge $20 for a 30 minute lesson.
It is preferred to have a set time for a lesson every week for maximum potential for growth. (Ex. Every Tuesday at 6:30pm).
