About Jillian
As a plant based chef I would love to get the opportunity to make you fall in love with vegan food. From using fresh vegatables and bringing flavors out.. to learning how to cook with mock meats and cooking them right!
I enjoy seeing how people transform thier view on how vegan food can taste and be open to experimenting with this type of cuisine.
I always had a passion for teaching in college. Cooking is the type of action that really pushes your capabilities to instruct a student into techniques that must repaet over again and be able to please the palate everytime.
I own a vegan catering business for 3 years and along the way have taught at ptivate schools, personal lessons as well as, crowd food demonstrations.

Every student is starting at a different level. I create a personalized program for each student including knife basics, food prep, safety and techniques. As the lessons progress we dive into making sauces, bases and stocks along with frying, stir-fry and roasting.
I have had the pleasure of teaching kids as young as 3 years old to about 70yrs old!
My specialty is in plant based cuisine. I can make vegan pancakes or beefless empanadas. Any foods you are comfortable with... I will veganize and show you how to cook them at home! Lets make a black bean burgers or tofu scramble breakfast wraps! Dried beans from scratch. Do you know how to use a pressure cooker? These are just a few of the types of lessons that all plant based chefs need to know. From vegatable stock to seiten and wheat meat. Let cook!
My most memorable was at a panel of 4 year olds giving the tofu scramble a thrumbs up.

Details
I offer lessons in Brooklyn for a flat fee. However, if you would like me to cook in your home or another location there is a $10 flat fee (toll + not included for outerboroughs) for travel.
All Packages include:
