About Greta
Do you suffer from IBS, bloating, indigestion, heartburn, gluten senesitivity or general stomach pain? Me too! Know you are not alone and that I am here help. I am a regualr at home cook who has always enjoyed food but also always experienced typical stomach issues. While pursuing a graduate degree in physics, the stress exacerbated my problems, so I finally sough help. After being disagnosed with IBS, I have been following the FODMAP diet to eliminate triggering foods and discover a path to a healthy gut. If are like me and need help developing healthy, delcious recipie then I am here to help! I would love to teach you my approach to home cooking for people with food sensitivities. Thanks!
I taught physics labs at Cal State LA for 3 years while completeing my degree so I am well versed at executing a lesson plan. I am comfortable making sure each student has absorbed and understands the material.
I have no formal cooking education but have worked in the resturant industry on and off over the last 10 years. I have a passion for food and cook at home on a regular basis. Since being diagnosed with IBS, I have shared my journey with my family and friends and found that there is serious interest in receiving help in the kitchen.

About the lesson

First we start with a discussion about their food sensitivies and goals in the kitchen. Once suitable goals are recognized, I then develope a recipie plan for the lesson and execute the lesson with the student. I will use the lesson time to not only show them the recipies I developed but also to share techniques that can be applied to all home cooking.
I have worked with mostly college aged students but am looking forward to working with people of all ages.
I would advise a student to look for someone that is responsive and willing to anwer questions.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
For food sensitive people looking to learn better cooking techniques, I would suggest they ask about their teacher's experience with food sensitivity and if they are familiar with the FODMAP diet.
