About Eliza
I am a recent college graduate with 15 years of experience. I am trained in ballet and contemporary/lyrical styles. I have taught ballet, pointe, jazz, and contemporary in the past. I aim to help students find joy in movement, especially in such uncertain times. I am currently pursuing my Master's in Dance/Movement Therapy and apply many different practices that I learn in my classes.
I love sharing my love to dance and movement with others. I want everyone to find comfort in what their body can do!
I started teaching by helping out at my high school dance studio, then continued into college.
I have studied ballet from the age of 6 into college. I have several years of experience performing, choreographing, and training in ballet, contemporary, and jazz. I have also taught ages ranging from 4 to 17.

First, I want to know what the students' goals are as well as any background they might have. I like to work with my students to structure a class that they feel they will get the most out of. Classes generally include a warm up/stretch or barre, cente exercises, an across the floor section, and learning a combination. If students are interested in a more flexible/free-form class, I would include improv and movement games.
I have worked with children ages 4 through 17 in all different levels of dance. I have also worked with disabled teens through a dance program with a past studio.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Some questions that I think are important are:
1. What are my goals with dance?
2. What do I want to learn?
3. How much work do I want to do outside of class on my own time?
4. Why am I dancing? Is it for fun, or is it something to pursue professionally?
