About Roxanne
DANCE – If you’re looking to dance for enjoyment, exercise, or are just looking for new adventures, we have the right class for you. Two left feet? No worries. We can help you find the right one. Our dance studio has regular progressive classes in Salsa, Mixed Latin, Argentine Tango, Wedding Dance, Ballroom, and Swing. For those wishing to take their dancing to the next level, our extensively trained staff also teaches competition style ballroom and Latin dance.
Whether you are an experienced dancer or just starting out, looking for group classes or private instruction, wanting to ‘Dance With The Stars’ or just at your next party or wedding reception, Convergence Dance and Body Center is your premier dance resource. Call our studio to start dancing today!
Our goals are to:
Create a community-oriented learning atmosphere for people of all ages, backgrounds and cultures.
Teach partner dancing, including but not limited to, swing, salsa, Argentine tango, waltz, foxtrot, rumba and belly dancing through the use of private lessons, group classes and workshops.
Host weekly dances to encourage social interaction among the dance community.
Teach the Gyrotonic® Technique for both general health and for rehabilitation.
Offer chiropractic care through association with Logan College of Chiropractic Health Clinic.
I answered an ad in the paper 33 years ago. It read “dance, party, travel and get paid for it”. I was 19 and it sounded like fun. Now the ad was quite misleading but here I am today dancing partying and leading groups for dance intensives in Argentina and soon to come Cuba. So I guess it was true!
There are many of us on staff so the education level varies. We have ballroom dancers that have 30 plus years of teaching experience along with classically trained dancers with 15 years of Experience. Everyone has an extensive background and we have regular staff trainings every week, along with visiting coaches, to keep us sharp and current.

The process is different for the private lesson client then for the group class client as there is more time face to face with a private client.
With the private client we have an intro private lesson that is discounted so that we can both assess and get the client started in a program that will help them achieve their goals.
With the group class client we try to keep an eye out for students that either need a little extra help or a little attention to keep them more engaged because it is very easy for them. We try to maintain this for the duration of the progressive series.
Everyone from professional dancers to people who have never danced. My oldest student was 93 and my youngest 9years old. We work with the APDA and have a Tango for Parkinsons patients class and have worked with autistic students as well. We have choreographed for countless weddings, quinces and have danced in all the major venues in St Louos from the ballpark to Powell symphony hall. We are currently working with channel 9 with their “summer dancing in the commons”

“Dancing in the Commons” with Channel 9 Network has been fun and has brought a lot of interest to communities coming together to enjoy dancing and the outdoors!
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
How does the studio work with the students? Is there a flexible program that allows you to study only what you want or is it a school that requires you to study the basic 5 or 6 ballroom dances. Does the studio charge more for more advanced lessons? If you are fast learner can you study more advanced moves in your lessons without paying for more lessons (yes these studios exist). Does the teacher you have suit your needs? You don’t need the best teacher in the studio, you need the need teacher for you.

Details
our group classes are $15 per class but are run in a series so you sign up for 4/6/8 week series at the cost of $60/$90/$120 per person. There is no discount for couples. It is a per person cost.
the cost for private lessons is $35 for the intro (the price is the same for a couple or a single) and there are packages of lessons in groups of 5 after that. The first package is $300 for 5 lessons, the second and thereafter is $350 for 5 lessons. Unlike other schools we do not continue to charge more for more advanced figures. We also do not require a student to study a group of dances they are not interested in. If you want to learn only salsa than that is what we will teach you.
