About Julia
New Dimensions Dance Academy provides a unique small class environment for both the pre-professional and recreational dancer. With a highly qualified staff that not only truly loves what they do but takes time with each student to help them achieve their individual goals.
We offer several performance opportunities and believe in giving back to the community. New Dimensions offers classes in all styles of dance for all ages!
All of our instructors truly love what they do. It shows in every class they teach. Not only their love of dance but their love of teaching dance to students so that they will carry on the traditions.
I started teaching at the age of 15, I taught adults tap and jazz at the YWCA in Lancaster, PA. I also taught at my home studio, Dancer's Workshop in Lancaster. My teachers felt it was important to learn the skill of teaching and groomed me for it.
I personally have been teaching dance for over 30 years. I have taught ballet, tap, jazz and PBT (Progressing Ballet Technique). I had a 20-year professional career as a dancer traveling 3/4 of the world performing in dinner theatres, on TV specials, conventions, a cruise ship, theme parks, and commercials. I was fortunate enough to have excellent training as a dancer which is why I had a wonderful career. I teach to pass down the technique and passion for dance that I was so lucky to receive myself.

We ask about their prior experience in dance or related activities. Based on that information and their current interests we let them know which classes would be good options. The first class is free and we make sure the classes they take are the best fit for them, even if we aren't right the first time. Having our students feel confident and thrive is what's important.
I have worked with all ages 1 to 30. In most recent years, I have taught ages 5-18. But I have experience with Mommy & Me classes all the way up to preprofessional ballet & pointe classes.
The advice I give is to give the class a chance. If you have never taken a dance class before there is a lot more to learn than just the steps. Sometimes that can feel overwhelming, but after a couple of classes, you know how it works and can settle into the class. And to trust the teacher, they have been in class themselves and they know what works and what doesn't.
I am fond of the relationships I have developed with my students. For example, when class was over the other night, two of my students, said 'Wow, that went by fast'! They leave with a smile on their face and have excellent attendance lets me know they like learning.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Don't overthink talking to your teacher. Just ask the questions, because they want you to succeed too! They want you to do your very best, progress and learn. That is why they teach dance!

Our tuition rates are based on how many hours of instruction you take each week. For example, if you take one 1-hour class per week, your tuition will be $60.00 per month.
