I believe that is her greatest joy as a teacher. I have never been in her presence when she’s not creating something. Her personality is magnetic with energy that invites one to explore magic in making. She is ART’s expression of God’s creative heart!

I am by no means a serious professional artist, I paint purely for my own personal pleasure and satisfaction with no desire to sell any of my art works. I took Valerie's class with the expectation that it would take years for me to produce paintings that I would be personally proud to have made. I can say that some of my most recent paintings have met this personal challenge.

While my own preference is to paint realistic dog pictures with
acrylics, I appreciate the broad multimedia experience that Valerie offers to her students. Valerie has encouraged me on multiple occasions to try other subjects and mediums, which heretofore I have politely declined.

My opinion of Valerie as a teacher is overwhelmingly positive. She has always offered me personalized instruction on animal painting techniques, which I am quite grateful for. Her class is consistently a pleasurable experience, and I always look forward to Saturday mornings with Valerie.
