About Kiril
My goal is to let my students have the freedom of expressing themselves. I would only push my students for the basics they need to learn but for all the rest I am completely fine with getting to know my students more as people and as players than telling them exactly what I think it should be done.
I enjoy the fact that every time I teach or practice the time just passes in a way that no one can feel it. I believe both the student and the teacher should have this kind of time in order for the experience to be most valuable and enjoyable. It’s about making music and believing that this matters.
I started teaching when I was at university working on my masters degree. I met a kid who wanted to apply to high school playing percussion so this is how I started actual teaching ouside university. As a student of course I had teaching hours which were part of my degree.
I graduated undegraduate school at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, Holland in 2015. Then I came to the US and started my masters degree at the University of Miami. Since I am in the US I have been actively performing around the country and mainly Florida with various ensembles, orchestras. I have been soloing a lot too and giving lessons as well as collaborating with a lot of musicians, conductors and composers.

I always talk to the student and the parent(s) (if the student is a young kid) and trying to understand what is the goal of the lessons. Also trying to get to know the student and make him/her feel comfortable in a friendly environment which a lesson should be. Teaching is about learning and sharing and it goes both way.
I was working with almost all types of students. Starting from kids who are just starting to play to adults who are experienced in the field of percussion.
The student should always look for a person who will be as honest and as open as possible to teach, communicate and share. A student should feel comfortable and motivated to come and have a lesson without having fear or any unpleasant feeling about the lesson time.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I believe that what a student should always think about is how his/her experience would be useful and valuable to them so they deal with obstacles without needing the teacher all the time. That is in my opinion the goal of the teacher. To teach to a certain point when the student is experienced enough to only polish details with the teacher.

First rate percussionist with superior education and experience. Top prize winner in major international percussion competitions. Breadth of experience in repertoire, instruments and techniques from classical contemporary to drum set. Killer percussionist but nice guy!
Kiril is a true motivator! Working with him is a unique inspiring experience!
Kiril is a very systematic teacher. He easily locates problems and presents step-by-step solving processes for me.
My favorite part is when I learn to play the tapan (Bulgarian drum) from him. As a complete beginner on this instrument, I felt very encouraged by his systematic approach. He paced introduction of new elements in such a way that I was able to play exponentially better in my second lesson.
I am very grateful to have such an inspiring and patient teacher!He's an incredible teacher! Very patient with me, even though I am just a beginner. His prodigious talent combined with a love for helping others made this a great experience. Would recommend to anyone trying to learn percussion or drumset!!
