About Alicia
Hello Parents and Students,
My name is Alicia Wellington, and I have been teaching lower to upper elementary education for 15+ years. I am certified to teach all subjects, primarily reading in grades k-5th grade. I am a hands on teacher that enjoy bringing technology into the classrooom. I am very patient and make sure that students feel comfortable around me. I am looking forward to tutoring your child and helping them understand the skills needed for a successful school year.
The thing I like most about teaching is my students. I love interacting with them and discussing strategies that they can apply to their coursework at school. To watch their face light up when they have "An aha" moment. It gives me joy to make a positive impact on young people on a daily basis. I just love teaching and making their feel good about themselves when they understand a skill.
I started teaching in New York (several years ago) as a teacher assistant then graduated with a BA degree in Elementary Ed and MA degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I am currently in school to obtain my doctoral degree in Education Leadership.
I work as an elementary certified teacher for the past 15+ years.

The most important aspect when working with a new student is building a good rapport. It is important for me to instill confidence before any tutoring begins which is essential to their success.
I have worked with all types from 2-3 below grade level to students above their grade level.
