About Anthony
Hello. Are you ready to take your English to the next level? I’m here to help. I’ve got nearly a decade of experience tutoring people just like you who are interested in making their lives better. My formal education was in Journalism, and that means I know a thing or two about writing and English grammar.
I’ve been teaching in university classrooms for several years now and I’ve worked with middle and high school students. Before that I worked for newspapers as a professional writer and editor.
Whether you want to improve your writing for the business or academic world, there are plenty of things I can do to help. I start by assessing where you are and then together we create a plan of what you want to improve on.
Do you want to travel? Do you want to speak to people in English with confidence? Do you want to do business in English? Do you want to move abroad?

I started classroom teaching when I moved to Turkey, but I've been teaching writing longer when I began working at a college in the United States where I worked with university-level students and progressionals.
I am TESOL certified and I have my classroom teaching certificate from TESOL as well. I am in the process of acheiving further Cambridge certification at the momnent. I have five years of ESL classroom experience and I have four years of experience working at a college writing center where I tutored writers. Before that, I worked at newspapers at a professional writer and editor. Currently I am a freelance writer and editor in addition to a university language instructor/the adviser and founder of the universities first all English newspaper written by ESL students.

I ask the student what they need and I assess their weaknesses in an initial lesson. Then we create a plan together to get their English to the next level.
I've worked with young children in primary school for one-on-one tutorials. I've taught grades 5-10 as well, and currently I teach university students.

I recently got a chance to train with some fellow teachers for a Cambridge certification and I really enjoyed meeting other people in my field. I think it's important to continuously educate yourself and improve in your craft.

Details
Yes I have a set price for various types of lessons. For more details, students are welcome to message me.
$50 for intensive prepared lessons which involve a lot of planning ahead of time. Lessons are 50 minutes and you are getting my planning time and expertise as a teacher as well before the lesson. This is the best way to improve. I help with academic, business, travel, and everyday English. We can make a plan that suits your needs and I can give you feedback as we go along.
$40 for conversation class. Lessons like this are less intensive and usually more fun for advanced learners who need corrections to their speaking and want to practice their proninciation and learn idioms and natural speaking. These are 50 minutes.
$40 for editing a standard paper, which normally I need an hour for. I do charge slightly more for highly specialized papers and papers that take more than an hour. I edit papers of all sorts and I find that length doesn't always mean the same level of work an expertise. I also provide tips on how to approach the task and give details examples of how to best do it.
$40 for a writing tutorial with live feedback. You are getting the best feedback live and I will coach you on your writing.
