About Sofie
I am a community college student studying to be an English teacher for middle school-aged students. I had the opportunity to be in several schools growing up and through that have learned that every student learns differently; I am able to adapt to that.
I enjoy seeing students have a "light bulb" moment where they finally have a breakthrough with understanding what they are assigned.
I will be honest and say that I have never had teaching experience besides tutoring classmates. However, I am hoping to transfer to UCI and get my teaching credentials and bachelors in English literature.
I have experience tutoring other students in my class. I was also homeschooled all throughout high school by a tutor and through watching and learning her teaching techniques, I have picked up some tricks along the way while tutoring my classmates.

For classmates I have tutored in the past, I usually make regular conversation with them for a few minutes prior to tutoring them, in hopes of making them feel that they are studying with a friend instead of a tutor/student atmosphere. We work on whatever they are having the most trouble with first and then work backwards to the easier assignments.
