About Zegan
I'm a thoughtful and patient instructor. I've been an English reading and writing tutor for three years. I believe in teaching students how to learn. I tailor my lessons to suit the learning style of the student.
--I offer tutoring services in English, Literature, and Writing.
--I've earned a masters degree in Creative Writing from UCLA.
--I've taught elementary, middle school, high school, college, and grad schools levels.
I tutored elementary students in high school and found a joy for inspiring others. I'm lucky to have had thoughtful and patient teachers in my youth and want to pass along that gift to others. My favorite teachers inspired my curiousity and sparked my imagination so that I was invested in learning. While studying History and Art History at the University of Texas at Austin, I earned a state teaching certificate. I continued teaching again while earning my masters at the University of California, Los Angeles.
I have a masters degree in Creative Writing from University of California, Los Angeles. I've worked as a teaching assistant for third grade, seventh grade, and high school level English classes. I've also taught undergraduate and gradaute levels at UCLA in Environmental Studies, Theater-Film-Television, and World Arts & Cultures.

I often begin with an assessment of the student's abilities in the first session. I then tailor the lessons to accomodate their learning style.

Details
I recommend having tutoring sessions of 1 hour for students K-10 and 1.5 hours for high school students. College students and adults are most efficient with sessions of 1 ½ to 2 hours.
Discounts are offered for multiple hours per week. There is no assessment fee. I don't have a requirement for a minimum number of sessions. I invoice twice a month.
The client must notify me 24 hours in advance if the appointment needs to be canceled. Cancellations without 24 hours' notice will be charged in full.
