About Lucas
My real joy, and the reason that I became a teacher, is helping children find a love of learning and education. Learning has offered me so many great things in my life and it is my goal to pass that along to the next generation. I have a passion for the sciences and helping children learn about the environment. I enjoy helping students learn by relating what they are learning to real life scenarios and circumstances. In addition, I love making learning fun and relevant to my students. I am a certified teacher in the state of California, with a focus on K-8. I have been a substitute teacher for 3 years in North County San Diego. I recently graduated from Alliant International University with my Master's in Education and teaching credential, with a GPA of 4.0.
My mother was a teacher and passed her love of teaching on to me. Once I started substitute teaching, I realized how much I loved working with children and that I was really good at it. This started my journey to become a teacher.
I am a credentialed teacher in California with a Master's degree in general education. I have also been a substitute teacher in elementary and middle schools for 3+ years.

I like to create a relationship with my students. I find that the best way to get students to enjoy learning is to get them to enjoy their time with me. I also like to find what they like to do and use that to help make the lessons relevant to their passions.
I generally work with elementary and middle school students.
