About Elodie
Professional Native Speaker
I am a French native from the Rhône-Alpes region in France. I have been teaching French for 18 years. I utilize a conversational, communicative method with the use of multi-media to train you from day one to understand, speak, read and write the language quickly and naturally.
This communicative approach is a methodology proven by current linguistic research to be the most effective for learning a new language.
The method places strong emphasis on the communication features of learning a foreign language – that is speaking, listening, practicing real-life situation in a fun and natural way.
After graduating in Teaching French as a Foreign Language, I decided to move to the United States. I worked 8 years for a renowned Language School in Washington DC as a professional French Teacher and Director of French Studies.
That wonderful experience inspired me to offer my own tutoring services in order to develop my own ideas in effectively teaching French and provide an innovative service to suit the client’s exact needs.
Teaching is my passion and I love seeing my students learn and be able to speak the language.

Before you decide to study with me, I will meet with you to determine your current and futures needs, your time schedule and your long-term goals.
You will take an oral evaluation test that should last no longer than 20 minutes.
We will then discuss in details exactly what you feel your difficulties are in the language because one often has an inaccurate view of one’s own needs.
We will discuss a suggested plan and curriculum of study as well as a schedule.
