About Amanda
Hi, I'm Amanda! I'm 23 years old originally from London but recently moved to Manchester. I graduated from UCL with a First class degree in BSc Biomedical Sciences. I then went on to study a Masters degree in Psychology of Education at the University of Manchester. Biology was always my favourite subject in school, I particularly enjoyed studying about the heart and kidneys. My love for human biology and anatomy is why I decided to study Biomedical Sciences when I left school.
While I was at uni, I volunteered and worked part time a lot with students. and young people. This included working for education charities to teach after school debating clubs, and volunteering as an activity leader in my local community youth club. I soon realised I had a passion for working with young people and this led me to pursue my Master of Education. I believe that all students should have the support and access to unlock their full academic potential, and through 1-1 tutoring this can be achieved!

6 years + experience in tutoring in KS3/4/5 Biology. I design my lesson plans around you, tailoring to your goals to help you ace your exams. Depending on what learning style works best for you, lessons can include quizzes, exam practice, flashcard learning, talking through processes, or helping you create your own revision resources. Together we can talk through and figure out what topics to focus on.
My experience as a tutor ranges from professionally tutoring Biology, to working as an afterschool debate mentor during my university studies, to mentoring Biology and Chemistry to lower year students when I was at school. With a Masters degree in Psychology of Education, I am passionate about supporting students through academic struggles as I understand how stressful school can be.
Lessons are 1 hour, for Year 7-13.
