I have worked with Jim for six years, in that time I have gone from a child who did not know how to hold a guitar to a young man who has become an exceptional guitar player. Jim is an amazing teacher. I really enjoyed how he kept me on track with the basics I needed to learn and definitely came in handy but also was always checking in and making sure I was learning songs, techniques, and chords I wanted to know well. He knows everything about music and how to teach someone the guitar which definitely showed when I increased my skills, speed in switching chords, finger picking, and overall comfortability
with the guitar in only 1-3 months.

Jim Steed is a phenomenal guitar teacher. He is fun and patient and he believes so strongly in every single one of his students. He was always listened to my wants as a guitar student, and threw in ideas of his own where he thought I would thrive, and he was always right! Jim taught me for 4 years. I am primarily a drummer so if he could teach a dumb ol’ drummer, he can teach anybody. In those 4 years, I went from knowing nothing about the guitar to singing lead vocals and playing rhythm guitar at my live shows. He was also very helpful in the studio and would produce a lot of our songs. Hands down the best music coach I’ve ever worked with. He WILL elevate your musical prowess. Guaranteed.

First of all he is always on time. He is pleasant and kind. My sons learned so much from him. But most importantly he created a relaxed atmosphere, got the job done, and kept my sons’ self-esteem high. He helped them feel great about themselves & their music.

I’ve been taking guitar lessons with Jim for about 9 years now and vocal lessons with him for 2. Since we’ve first started lessons Jim has always been a true professional: always early or on time, helpful, hard worker, etc. More importantly, however, he genuinely cares about his students far more than any teacher I’ve ever met.
