About Alex
I can provide a unique perspective to your playing in that I'm almost entirely self-taught and was more recently a beginner that most other teacher's out there. I can show you the rules of guitar and most importantly, how to break them.
I love to share the gift of music with others, especially through the guitar, and if one of these kids goes on to be a famous rockstar I won't object to a shout-out haha
When I studied music industry at GSU and stayed in the dorms there, I discovered a great love for giving others some insight into the guitar that they might not get from a youtube video or overpriced online lessons.
I've been playing the blues for 7 years now, as well as country and rock, and am currently studying for a music performance degree in classical guitar at the Schwob School of Music.

I like to first get a feel of a student's skill level and background, it's important to know where someone is especially with an instrument as accesible as the guitar. After we discuss this then we can discuss where you want to take your playing further.
I've taught students of all ages from age ten to even forty years old. From people who have had nothing but classical training to folks who have never even touched a guitar.
Know what kind of player you want to be. If you want to rock out to Elvis or the Beatles or even Metallica, a classical guitar teacher might not be your best bet. If you're looking to be able to play Francisco Tarrega's entire repertoire, you won't get anywhere learning with a metal guitarist.

Details
The first lesson is always $15, just to get your foot in the door so we can get to know each other and I can plan out your following lessons. After that, each subsequent lesson is $20 for a little over an hour each session.
