About Cat
I've been performing professionally in many capacities for 10 years, all over the world. I will help you not only create music well, but become more musical, more in touch with your inner creative performer, and more able to connect confidently to your audience... and to yourself! No matter what my students' goals happen to be, I encourage a can-do attitude and self-awareness, and LOVE seeing my students grow in creativity and confidence! I LOVE watching my students (of all ages) shine, seeing them find joy in their accomplishments, seeing them learn to identify their own strengths and the places where they could use some work, and most of all I love watching their creativity, curiosity, and confidence blossom!
I studied music and classical voice in college. I have since studied and performed in such vocal styles as opera, Broadway belt, mix, jazz, rock, country, bluegrass, R&B, gospel, pop, and more. I am a singer-songwriter and professional musical theatre performer for ten years (continental US, internationally, off-Broadway, cruise ships, international tours). I play seven instruments, my primary instrument being acoustic rhythm guitar. I've been playing bluegrass since I was knee high to a grasshopper.

First we find out what their goals and interests are. Then we assess their level. Most importantly is establishing trust-- they can trust that they can do no wrong in the lesson room as long as everything they do is done in earnest; and I can trust them to practice and to approach lessons with bravery! Depending on the type of lesson, we generally go forward with songs they're interested in.

I am currently priced at a dollar a minute. I do not suggest lessons shorter than 30 minutes, as you actually can't get much out of em. Trust me. I tried it.
