About Jesse
Shelter-in-place update: I have been at the remote teaching thing now for well over a month, and feel that my are getting as much out of my lessons as they were in person. Using charts, images, and videos of me playing the song or exercise, I've had only good feedback so far.
With nearly 20 yrs. experience teaching guitar, touring professionally and releasing and recording several studio albums, I have a well rounded understanding of his instruments (guitar, bass, ukulele and more), as well as understanding the needs of each individual student. Well you simply want to be able to play a few of your favorite songs, or develop into a national recroding artist - I have the know-how and experience to guide you.
I love working with motivated people who are as excited about music as much as I am. It's great to see people progress and push forward into the next challenge. As an artist and performer, I love the joy that live and recorded music brings to the audience.
I received my AA with an empasis in music from College of Marin, had lessons of my own growing up, and have toured and recorded professionally for 20+ years

With a student who has had experience or lessons on the instrument, I assess what they know and build upon that; correcting or modifying any techniques or habits they may have that are holding them back.
With new students I determine what their goals are, and jump right in with chords, songs and exercises that help get them going as quickly as possible. If the student isn't 100% clear on what direction or goals they may have, I help guide them with a system of teaching I've used countless times of the years with great success.
