I loved the way he made me feel like everything I did could be doable if I put my mind to it. When I was learning new songs, he would help me learn the skills and tricks necessary to thrive and master the material. He doesn't just teach you the song- he learns with you so that you can take those skills you learn from that song into other songs. He is a great beginner's instructor and really gets you excited about guitar and music overall.

Troy is a patient and fun teacher. He encourages without being overbearing. Troy uses the Hal Leonard teaching system for guitar. I have found it to be the best method for total development of the guitar student.

I am an adult in my 50’s taking guitar lessons for the first time although I had piano lessons as a youth and trombone in high school and as a college freshman. So I am speaking as one who had musical knowledge to begin with. I find Troy to be a very personable individual and easygoing. Flexible. Willing to work with whatever your goals are: theory, songs, picking/fingering mechanics, scales, etc. I think his rates are reasonable (at least for me). He is patient and let’s me learn at my own pace.
