About Cara
Hi My name is Cara I'm 28 years old and am from Long Island NY. I began gymnastics at seven and I have been flipping around ever since! I have worked at Five Star Gymnastics Academy, DC Gymnastics while in college in Albany NY and Gold Star Gymnastics when I studied abroad in Australia. I currently work at Spring in Lawrence NY and offer private lessons and group lessons. I offer a fun postitive and challenging environment to help my students reach their goals!
I love the sport of gymnastics & when I am able to assist a student in getting a new skill it really makes my day. I love encouraging my students and assisting in instilling confidence in them
I was offered a job by my old coach! I absolutely loved it so much that throughout my life (college, full time job) I have continued to coach on the side.
I am USAG Certified & I have been coaching for ten years

When I meet a new student I first ask them to do a few basic gymnastics moves to see their level. I then ask them their goals. Did you see an awesome youtube video and want to learn how to do that? We'll do that. Do you want to make it on the school team? Okay then lets start working on getting all those skills you need to get on the team. Is this for fun with your friends? Then lets have a great time together while encouraging each other to reach our highest potential
I have worked with students of all ages and levels. From four years old to eighteen.
Find a couch you can trust, that is a huge part of getting new skills! Trusting that the coach knows you and your abilities.
Recently I helped a young boy learn a backhandspring in his first gymnastics lesson which he has incorprotated into his break dancing routine. It was very cool!
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Really think about what they want to get out of the lesson and articulate that to the coach! We can then work on a game plan together both in the gym and steps you can take at home to improve your strength.

My daughters improved so much with Cara. Her gymnastics lessons were safe, fun and really built up their skills and confidence. I highly recommend her as an instructor for all gymnastics levels.
Cara was excellent working with my girls. I was surprised to see my daughter who was very afraid of trying new things got so comfortable and was able to successfully do back handsprings and all, this happened because of how Cara is able to give other options to help her get comfortable.
From the girls first lesson with Cara, they couldn’t wait to go back each week.
