About Ryan
Yog Asana (as people in the West call 'yoga') is a powerful and effective ancient science to calm the mind and get into the body more. Pranayama is control of one's energy through breath and movement. I've traveled through India much of the past two years formally learning asana, pranayama, and meditation from its roots; from the physical and philosophical perspectives. What you receive working 1-1 is high-level, authentic teachings that meet you where you are at.
Teaching has been apart of who I am for as long as I can remember. It started through music, teaching trumpet lessons in 2014. Since then, I've explored teaching in other areas-- growth and performance coaching, music education, and others. I find they all require a certain level of creativity, mindfulness, and connection
-Formal teacher training in Traditional Hatha Yoga from Parmarth Niketan Ashram, India
-Formal study of Sanatan Dharma in the Yoga Sutras and Bhagavad Gita from Belur Math, Kolkata
-1.5 years of travel and private study around India
-10 years of experience working with students 1-1

With a new student, it always starts with an initial assessment for where they are and what their goals are. Once this is established, each subsequent session is highly personalized to fit that student's needs.
I've worked with all types of students-- from ages 8-62 and from eight different countries
Ask questions. Ask honest, open questions. And, be transparent with your intentions! Ask the instructor how they would continue working with you as well.
It might go without needing to be said, but the past nearly two years of travels around India. It was special, inspiring, and awakening on many levels. Getting to connect with others from another culture, learn more more about 'who I am' (and subsequently who I am NOT), what it means to serve, and see the world in a fully different way.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
How prepared am I to give 100% while I practice? Am I looking to take this casually, as something done inconsistently and to put a bandaid on my current life situations? Or, am I sincerely looking to grow, change, and practice regularly?
