About Maya
Hello!
I am a recent graduate from the University of Michigan College of Engineering. I have been tutoring student K-12 since 2014 in a variety of subjects ranging from middle school math, calculus, and ap physics. I am well versed in math and physics topics and have a passion for helping students tackle complicated topics to build their confidence and help them grow as students.
I started tutring through my high school National Honor Society. It was a requirement to have 5 hours of tutoring our peers each semester. From there, a fwe of my teachers recommend that I start tutoring and I went from there.
As an engineer I have taken many advanced mathematics and physics courses. Additionaly, I have been tutoring students with much success since 2014.

When working with a new student I typically spend part of our first session getting to know the student and what they are struggling with. I also discuss what study stragies they currently use and what they are most comfortable with. Each student learns differently and I tailer the structure of the sessions to fir their needs.
I have worked with a range of students from those who are struggling with fundamentals to those who want a deeper understanding of the material. Additionaly, I have worked with students who have learning disorders such as ADHD.
