About Marco
Hi my name is Marco from Marco's Math Tutoring! I am a teenage math enthusiast who tries to learn math topics outside school curriculum.
I want to help your student with problem solving techniques that will prepare them for all those pesky problems with heavy computation or tricky wording.
In each lesson I have the student and parent show me what they think they need help on and I try devise problems that will aid the student to excel in the classroom.
The first few are straightforward problems relating to that topic. I show my problem solving methods for that problem.
Then I add more complexity and have the student present a solution that would work. I have the student work out that problem and I give feedback and where they made mistakes.
The previous step is crucial to my lessons because there are not only calculational errors, but flaws in logic which may yield a correct answer then may not yield a correct answer later. The other feedback I give is to not draw out the process, shortcuts that work on tests to solve the problem.
I also look for applications that your student may want to know, how the skills they are learning will help them tomorrow!
As a final reason to hire me as your student's tutor is that I find resources that work for that particular topic outside of my lessons and the school. This can come as a book or video series.
Thank you for considering me as your student's tutor! Have a great day!
