About JERRY
I find much reward in assisting students to find success in Math which will help them much in achieving their goals for their future careers. I take a coaching approach which is tailored to the needs and learning style of each individual student.
I have experience working with a full spectrum of students, anywhere from those with special needs to those seeking acceptance at major universities. I have been performing a combination of teaching full-time, tutoring, and coaching for several years. I also provide practice/ prep for both ACT and SAT tests.
Teaching has been my second career. My first was in Aerospace Engineering where I worked in the Space Shuttle Program for a number of years.
I am a certified secondary Math and Science teacher in the states of Texas and Colorado. I have 18 years of full-time teaching experience along with 11 years of coaching.
I have 5 years of experience in tutoring students in all secondary Math and Science courses.
I have 5 years of experience in preparing students to take both the SAT and ACT exams.

I discuss their educational and professional goals along with key interests and hobbies. I confer with their parents for background, experience, and the learning style which works best with their child.
I have worked with students from various cultures and backgrounds. Primarily I have worked with secondary students although on occasion with elementary students.
I assist my students in setting high goals, laying out a plan, and executing the plan. Be ready for success!
Several of my students obtained SAT and ACT scores above their goals and were accepted at universities of their choice.
One young lady made a very high score on PSAT and received a full-tuition scholarship to the prestigious Colorado School of Mines.
