About Israel
As the founder, I have been teaching for over 10 years. It has only been recently that I became a substitute teacher and tried to teach every subject and grade level from K to 12. I know how to understand the struggle from the child's persepective and am able to teach a method that they can understand and learn to use.
Although my passion is in math, I am also fascinated by the sciences, economics, English Langage Arts, and creative writing. As such, I am able to mix skills from other subjects to better inspire and cultivate interest in my students.
I began teaching sunday school at the Mustard Seed Fellowship Church (now All Nations Church) in 2012 and enjoyed it but decided to continue to pursue an education in Mathematics and so I went on to University of the Pacific to study math. While there, I found out I had a lot of patience and a desire to see children grow and succeed. This led me to teaching where I could do both while also finding time to lead people to find faith in Jesus Christ.
I have been teaching as a youth leader for 4 years, a speaking engagement coordinator for 3 years, and a substitute teacher for 1 year.
I graduated from the University of the Pacific with a B.S. in Applied Mathematics and a minor in Economics.

The first call I get, I will use to schedule a date to meet and start teaching. I will ask what subject is needed, if you can send a copy of the lesson in question, and when you would like to meet (if online only) or when and where (if in person). I usually set an hour to start and alter as needed. A typical session lasts 2 hours so I like to make sure both you and I can fit this into our shedule.
I supply any copies, writing supplies, and tutoring equipment so I don't ask for these at all but you may use your own if desired.
I have worked with students in every grade level (K-12) and every primary subject including general education (K-5), math (K-12), science(Bio, Chem, Physics, Earth Sci, Physical Sci), history, English, P.E., art, and special education.
By the end of the session, you should be able to answer one question of the same style of problem on your own. If your tutor doesn't at least offer assistance to do that, they have not done thier job and you should try another tutor. Albeit if the tutor has a record of success with you but fails once or twice, give them grace.
During one week, I was on a long term assignment for an 8th grade math class. I don't normally carry through long conversations with students; but, one particular boy I could tell was a follower of a trouble maker in his class. Fortunately, he seemed like he still enjoyed learning about the applications of math (as do most kids). Well, when I went on to describe how one could use the linear formula to find out which cellphone company was giving him the best deal, he was completely captivated, asking a series of questions on if he could use alternative formulas or if one could ask for a different deal. I went on to talk about confirming which company would offer the best long/ short run price, what time would make the alternative company a better deal, and if factors like phone cost had an effect on the decision.
Following the conversations, he didn't produce much work but for the next 5 days I saw him, he didn't cease to ask me at least 2 or 3 questions throughout the day on the topic I was discussing. I was so proud of this child, who managed to get the entire class on borad as well, I awarded the class some challenge problems with prizes to see him among the group solving away. That was the most rewarding moment for me as I gave away a prize.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I suggest going through the problem set or talking to at least 2 friends from the class before asking the tutor. If both cannot give you a desirable answer nor can the teacher respond within a reasonable time, contact the tutor.
