About Matt
I am someone who loves math and has always loved math. I enjoy working with numbers and most importantly I enjoy teaching others. I love working with people and I will be as supportive as I can. I have tutored math before in high school and it is super fun for me. I've taken math classes all the way from Pre-Algebra through Calculus 3 and I've taken Financial Accounting and Intermediate Accounting. I feel it's very rewarding and I enjoy helping other students succeed. I enjoy working with topics that I enjoy and helping other people find that same passion. I love working with people and especially teaching math.
I was approached by a student in high school about tutoring for math and I truly enjoyed the experience. I thought it was rewarding and I'd like to get back into doing a little bit of that.
I am a junior in college at the University of Minnesota studying finance and supply chain. I have an extensive math background throughout high school, as I've taken Pre-Algebra to Calculus 3 and everything in between. I got A's in all of these classes and enjoyed them greatly.

I always just try to connect with the student and understand what they're having problems with. I want them to trust me and to work on the problem with me. I'll try my best to help them work through it so they can understand it best they can.
I've worked primarily with algebra students, but I have a strong grasp of the other subjects I mentioned above.
I would say to find someone generally interested in what they're teaching and someone with a good personality. It's always more enjoyable to learn a difficult subject with someone who has a good personality, so look for that when you're picking a teacher.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Think through exactly what you need help with. Make sure you come to the meeting with problems or concepts you're having difficulty with because it makes it so much easier for the teacher to help. At least I appreciate it a lot more!
