About Vivian
I'm a private tutor who values the learning process just as much as the results. I believe one-on-one tutoring is the most effective and efficient way to help students become more confident in themselves and become self-motivated learners. I have many years of experience tutoring math and science subjects, from introductory biology, to organic chemistry, to integral calculus. Though I mostly work with students of high school and undergraduate age, I have taught people of all ages.
I started working at a Kumon center as a part time job in high school, and have been dedicated to helping students achieve their full academic potential since.
I have been tutoring individuals and small groups as a peer tutor in college for three years. I have gotten an A in a college course for all of the classes I tutor.

The goal of the first meeting is to gauge the student's level of understanding of the subject. I believe a strong foundation is critical to understanding higher level material, so it is important to establish the student's baseline knowledge. From there, we would tackle the topics the student wants to cover, such as what will be on their next exam.
I mostly work with high school and undergraduate students, but have worked with students of all ages.
