Carlos has been just fantastic! We originally hired him to help my daughter (9th grader) with the SSAT so that she could transfer to a private school. My advice to parents who need a lot of support for their children is to hire Carlos, I have recommended him several times already to friends. My son was going through a very difficult personal time a few years ago, which tanked his academic performance. He went from being on the honor roll freshmen year of high school to being dismissed from that school early during his sophomore year. I called Carlos on a friend's recommendation, knowing that my son needed a lot of help and would likely resist someone else coming to help him. I was so surprised when Carlos showed up and quickly built a trusting environment for my son. Carlos was a patient listener and teacher, even on days when my son was rebellious and rude. Carlos also made sure that he devoted plenty of time to helping my son, often scheduling tutoring sessions up to 5 times a week on very busy weeks. Private tutoring is expensive, but Carlos is worth every dollar. Recently Carlos left the Los Angeles area to attend school in Northern California, which was a huge loss for us. He was kind and recommended a colleague who so far has been doing a good job, but I would without a doubt hire Carlos if I could. It made a huge difference for us.

I was looking for help in a biochemistry course where I was drowning (I had not taken chemistry in years) and Carlos was recommended by a family friend. Even though we started meeting one month into the course, Carlos helped me understand the current and past concepts so that later chapters made sense. We studied together for tests and he guided me through problem sets. My final grade was a 98, my highest grade in a science course in all of college. A few months later, I asked for help with a physiology course and to prep for job applications, so I had him go over my resume and cover letters. Great, well-rounded tutor!

Carlos has been my tutor since I almost failed my first semester of college with a GPA barely above 2.0. He taught me skills to improve both my learning and my studying and helped me several hours a week with remedial coursework on top of the classes I was taking. I graduated college in four years, something not common in my college and even less so with a learning disability, with an almost perfect major GPA (3.92) and a strong overall GPA (3.6). Carlos tutored my daughter for a little over a year. Originally, we hired him to help her get a top score in the SSAT and gain admission to a top private school in the area. She ended up getting an almost perfect score. Once in high school, we asked Carlos to coach her so that she would be ready for mathematics tests and competitions.
