About Nicholas
I'm not the kind of instructor who simply gives out the answers. I work with students step by step through the procedures needed in order to give them the skills and confidence necessary to arrive at the answer themselves. I aim to get students engaged in the work by breaking things down into smaller, more digestible chunks.
Although an engineer by profession, I have long had a passion for teaching. Since a young age, I've loved working with others to try to help them get interested in topics that can at times be difficult, but can end up being incredibly rewarding.

I have a Bachelor's of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Purdue University, and I am also continuing my education by pursuing my Master's in Aerpsace Engineering through Purdue, although this time online.
I have a lot of experience in mentorship/coaching/tutoring roles, having been a teaching assistant for several semesters in college, camp counselor, and even tutoring and teaching since I was in high school.

I like to get to know the student a bit before digging in. I like to know what things they are interested in, what topics they may be struggling, and how dedicated they are to improving their skills in subjects that they may find challenging.
Throughout volunteering to camp counselor to teaching assistant to tutoring, I've worked successfully with students from elementary school all the way through college.
Figure out what kind of experience the person has. Also figure out their motivation for tutoring. Do they just want some extra money, or do they truly love to teach and mentor? I'm not tutoring just to make ends meet, I'm doing it because I really enjoy it.
I had some awesome students as a teaching assistant teaching labs in college. At the end of semester evaluations, I had many students share lovely comments with me, several being "Best TA ever!" and "I wish he taught the lectures as well as the lab portion!"

Details
I am willing to be flexible with pricing, whether we do a flat hourly rate or a base rate per session plus tutor bonuses for each time the student's grade improves. I'm also open to hearing suggestions of other ideas beyond these as well.
