About Richard
I am a professional and experienced tutor of Math and Physics with a passion for all science and engineering. I am a graduate from California State University with a degree in Physics. I love cycling and running almost as much as Physics and Math and I enjoy playing strategy board/card games. I have 5 years and over 3000 hrs of tutoring experience in Math & Physics.
I offer quality lessons to meet the individual needs of any student. My lessons along with commitment and hard work has always lead to exam success. My method relies on a patient approach and I have plenty of experience explaining complex concepts in a way tailored to each individual student. I am available for help with homework, coursework guidance, specific topics and of course exam revision.
My patient method makes for a relaxed atmosphere which is crucial in any learning process. In adjusting my technique I can match and complement the learning style of the student. By listening carefully I can determine how they are feeling and measure progress. Honesty is important to establish the trust on which to build a successful tutoring relationship. If I don’t know the answer to a specific question I will find the answer and follow it up in our next session. I am professional and punctual and treat my students’ and their parent’s/guardian’s time with respect. Ultimately, teaching how to learn is probably the most important skill I try to imbue my students with. How to access resources and phrasing questions is a key skill in today’s society.
