About Heather

Welcome! As a certified teacher specializing in grades K-2, I am dedicated to nurturing the foundational skills of young learners in The Bronx, NY. With a focus on math, reading, and writing, I tailor tutoring sessions to meet the unique needs of each child, ensuring they gain confidence and proficiency in their studies. My approach emphasizes creating a supportive and engaging learning environment that fosters curiosity and a love for learning. Let me help your child excel academically and build a strong educational foundation.

I began teaching 20 years ago when I had My first child. I had not considered education as my path until she came along. I fell absolutely in love with her academic growth and how influential I was in that process. I found My Calling!

I have a Masters in Early Childhood Education and am certified to teach birth through grade 2. I am currently a first grade teacher.

I would first speak with the parents and ask for their perspective of why tutoring is needed.
I would then want to meet with the student to build a rapport and run a preliminary assessment to gauge their individual needs.

I have worked with students with disabilities.

Rapport is most important. Make sure the teacher is vested in knowing WHO you are and what you CAN do!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Think of one success in school? What happened? How was the teacher working with you?
