About Nadya
Hello! My name is Nadya and I am a singer and vocalist. I have been studying music since I was four years old, and currently hold a Bachelor of Music in vocal performance from Boston University.
From January 2022, until May 2023 I worked as a music and vocal technique instructor a a non-profit music education organization In San Juan, Puerto Rico. There, I was able to teach group Music Theory lessons, as well as group and individual voice lessons to children between ages 5 to 17, as well as 18 year olds who were about to go off to study Vocal Performance. I currently teach Voice and Music Theory lessons privately, in person, as well as remotely.
My teaching style is very much like the style of instruction I received, in which the foundation of all material is the Music Theory behind it. When I teach Music Theory and/or Solfège, I like to break down the exercise and relate it to other aspects of music, or even life! I enjoy using metaphors to exemplify concepts and help students visualize the more abstract concepts, as I am a visual learner myself, as well. When I teach voice, I follow a similar approach, but focus on helping the student understand what is happening in their body as they are breathing, in order to produce sound. I am currently pursuing a Master of Science in Speech and Language Pathology, so I am looking forward to integrating concepts and techniques from Voice Therapy in the voice and singing lessons I teach.
