About Cassie
What do you define as beautiful in art?
I am quite fond of the process. I am a well-trained oil painter with a BFA, specializing in color theory, contemporary portraiture and still life. I also hold a Master's level education in art education. I can teach any age, and I promise you will blow yourself away.

Let's start with SUPPLIES. High quality if possible. Oil painting is not meant to be done with low grade paints as they contain far less pigment, inevitably dulling your image. Once we gather supplies necessary we move on to choosing a medium for our paint.
Practice make perfect! Perfection doesn't exist in art, but what is expected within the realm of oil painting is a strong understanding of how to manipulate both your paint and your colors. We practice with small thumbnails, learning the depths of color theory.
Finally, painting the painting. I will guide you in transferring your photographic reference to your desired surface, most commonly canvas, and then we will begin the oil painting process to complete a piece that holds meaning in value for you.
