About Marybeth
I am a nurse practitioner and certified clinical exercise physiologist. I specialize in exercise rehabilitation for people with chronic health conditions. I have worked extensively with those who have heart or lung disease, arthritis, obesity, cancer, and autoimmune conditions. I believe that everyone can find a way to exercise safely and enjoyably.
Patient teaching is possibly the most important aspect of nursing care. Over my career I have developed the listening and interviewing skills needed to better understand what drives a person's decision-making in healthcare matters. My broad background helps me to explain medical terms and physiologic processes to help people better understand what's going on in their bodies.
I am certified by the American College of Sports Medicine as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist and am licensed in Maryland as an adult-geriatric nurse practitioner. I specialize in working with adults who have existing health problems, to develop safe exercise programming designed to help meet their goals for better health.

I start with a complete evaluation to assess for any risks or other factors that could affect exercise participation. Then together with the client we establish a plan for going forward always keeping their goals in mind.
I have wide-ranging experience working with people who have multiple chronic conditions impacting health. I use the knowledge gained along the way to help people understand the factors affecting their ability to feel better and stay stronger so they can keep doing the things they enjoy.
