About Cynthia
I have been teaching art at the high school level for 18 years, specializing in drawing, painting and AP Art & Photo . I have a wealth of information and lessons in art at all levels and understand how to advise students on building a unique portfolio. My students have a 100% passing rate in Advanced Placement (AP Art). Parents, if you are homeschooling, this is the perfect opportunity. I can be available for as many sessions as you would like and can provide a free consultation.
I graduated from SUNY Purchase in New York with a major in Set Design and worked in the film industry painting sets and murals and building miniatures for 8 years. I then got my teaching credential in art education at San Jose State in 1999.
The things I love most about teaching are working with students one on one, building connections and watching their confidence and creative minds grow. My strengths are in getting good work out of my students that reflects their personal style.
I have a credential in Art Education, 18 years experience in teaching Drawing and Painting and 13 years experience in teaching Advanced Placement (AP) Art and Photography.
I worked in the film industry for 8 years painting sets, murals and building miniatures. I keep up with my educational experience by taking classes and workshops to further develop curriculum my own portfolio.
