I am passionate about helping others learn. I want to help students understand their course work and to find their passion. I believe every student should enjoy learning and as an educator it is our responsibility to make topics accessible.
My undergraduate research advisor quickly recognized my passion for teaching and recommend me as an undergraduate TA for genreal chemistry honors the fall of my junior year. The following spring I assisted teaching Intro to Biochemistry and Organic Chemistry Lab. I discovered the joy of teaching young scientists and decided to continue my education in graduate schoo.
As a graduate student at UCSD I have extensive teaching experience. I earned my BS in Biochemistry and Neuroscience at the University of Delaware where I graduated with Distinguished Honors.

During the first session we will discuss the student's needs, strenths, areas for imporvement, and schedule. Setting clear goals is important to success. The following sessions we will begin to build foundation of the topic and gradually build the students understanding. Each session will end with a summary and a set of tasks for the student to work on prior to the next lesson. Ultimately, the goal is for the student to not only understand the material but also be able to apply it to further concepts.
Each summer I take on a small group of UC undergraduate students who intend to apply to graduate school the upcoming fall. I mentor them through the application process including GRE exam-prep, school selection, application essays, interviews, and more. Helping the students along their path to graduate school is so rewarding. This past year both of my mentees received acceptances at their top schools. The day they shared the news with me was a truly special.
