About Becca

Hi, I have spent the best part of 20 years in the music business. I have trained actors like Sigorney Weaver to sing in movies, I have worked on Saturday Night Live as Assistant Musical Director, and I have several songs in movie soundtracks.

I so love to teach singing, and offer many techniques to help you with performing or anxiety, and to help you become a stronger singer.

There are many techniques that can help you, microphone techniques, breathing exercises, pitch control and so much more. Whether you are preparing for an audition, a show, or simply want to just get better and feel more confident, I would love to help you on your journey. If you want to go deeper, there's sight-reading, and stretching your vocal range. Preparing and rehearsing for auditions, recording techniques, etc. etc.

I am a "child prodigy", I began singing and playing the piano at aged 3. My Mother was an opera singer, and taught all of us to sing and plauy from an early age. I got involved with popular music when I reached college. I studied History of Music at Cambridge University in the UK, and afterwards, I left to begin playing and singing at Ronnie Scotts in London in a jazz trio. I moved quickly into recording and session work, and I have been privileged to play and sing on many records for such artists as Keith Richards, Mariah Carey, Stevie Winwood, Mary J. Blige, Living Color, The Devinyls, and many others.

About the lesson

First, I listen to where you're at. I ask you to perform something that you love for me, (I'm happy to always accompany you on the piano for support!, or you can bring in a backing track if you prefer.) Then we talk a bit about what you want to acheive- to just enjoy weekly singing, or to advance your skills in some way.

I want you to enjoy the music that we are studying! So it's very important to me that I get to know your tastes and style, and that we learn songs that speak to YOU.
