About Krishna
I teach music production/engineering, music theory, ear training, voice, and piano. I specialize in pop, hip hop, RnB, folk, and jazz, but love teaching all styles of music.
My passion in teaching is figuring out what students want to learn, and then helping them run with that spark by adapting to their learrning style. I get excited about creative pedagogy and bringing the material to life. I love seeing students get passionate and driven, and I work hard to help them get there.
I've been teaching music lessons for over 5 years. I graduated with a bachelors in music from Columbia University in New York. I've worked as a music producer, session/live instrumentalist, and as a mixing/recording engineer for the past 4 years.
Looking forward to connecting with new students!
I love working with students who are inspired! It doesn't matter so much what the specific passion is, but when people have a creative drive I love to match that energy and help them develop their passion even further.
I started out volunteer teaching music as well as math in highschool for underprivileged kids.

I like to spend the first lesson getting to know a student, thinking about how I can best help them meet their goals, and starting to show them a little something to get them excited!
After the lesson I'll spend my own time devising a plan to keep them excited and motivated to grow as a musician. I like to think beyond just the instrument and try to help students grow into multi-faceted creatives.
I've worked with students of all ages and backgrounds with interests in voice, piano, music production, ear training, and theory.
Don't be afraid to try meeting a few different teachers. It is crucial to find someone who you can really connect with. Learning and especially creative learning are vulnerable processes and the connection is key to success.
